Downtown Buffalo, Wyoming

Buffalo, Wyoming hosts the Jim Gatchell Museum of the West, the
historic Occidental Hotel and many other historic buildings. There is also a fine
downtown shopping district and fine restaurants. The Clear Creek Trail System runs
from east of Buffalo approximately 11 miles into the Big Horn Mountains. The Big
Horn
Mountains and Bighorn National Forest are just a 10 minute drive from the Arrowhead Motel. |

The Big Horn Mountains and Bighorn
National Forest are very popular for sports including downhill skiing, cross-country
skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling and 4-wheeling. Summer activities include
camping, fishing, hiking & backpacking, trail riding, wildlife viewing and
photography, and sightseeing. |

Abundant Wildlife

Wildlife is
abundant in the area around Buffalo, Wyoming and the Big Horns. Pronghorn Antelope,
Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer, Moose, Elk, Black Bear, Mountain Lions, Coyotes, and many other
species inhabit the area. |

There are many historic sites
available in the area including Fort Phil Kearny, Wagon Box Fight, and the Fetterman
Massacre.
About 45 miles south of Buffalo is the Town of Kaycee. West of Kaycee is the famous
Hole-in-the-Wall region, where the outlaws Butch Cassidy, the Sundance Kid and others
holed up, The area is characterized by rolling plains and the magnificent red rock
wall. |
